SMS Consent Policy

Last Updated: May 28, 2026

Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Last Updated: May 28, 2026

This SMS Consent Policy describes how MyShowUp.app ("MyShowUp", "we", "our", or "us") handles customer consent for SMS appointment reminder messages sent through our platform.

1. How MyShowUp Works (B2B2C Model)

MyShowUp operates as a business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) platform:

  • Business Users are the service professionals (plumbers, electricians, cleaners, etc.) who subscribe to MyShowUp to manage their appointments.
  • End Customers are the individual clients whose phone numbers are entered by Business Users to receive SMS appointment reminders.
  • MyShowUp acts solely as the messaging service provider — we transmit reminders on behalf of Business Users but do not establish direct relationships with End Customers.

MyShowUp does not collect or solicit End Customer phone numbers directly. All numbers are provided by Business Users who have an existing relationship with their clients.

2. Business User Consent Obligations

Before adding any customer phone number to MyShowUp, Business Users are required to:

  • Obtain prior express consent from their customers — either verbally at the time of booking, in writing, or through a digital opt-in — to receive SMS appointment reminders.
  • Clearly inform customers of the nature of the messages (appointment reminders only, not marketing).
  • Maintain a record of consent in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Immediately remove any customer who opts out from future communications.

Our Terms of Service explicitly prohibit the use of MyShowUp to send unsolicited, marketing, or promotional messages.

3. Message Type and Frequency

Messages sent through MyShowUp are exclusively transactional in nature:

  • Appointment confirmation requests
  • Appointment reminders (typically sent 24 hours before the scheduled service)
  • Rescheduling notifications when applicable

Frequency: Messages are only sent when a customer has an appointment scheduled. Customers will not receive messages if they have no upcoming appointment. There are no recurring marketing messages or newsletters.

4. How to Opt Out (STOP)

End Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message received from MyShowUp. Upon receiving a STOP reply, no further messages will be sent to that number.

Additional opt-out options:

  • Reply STOP to any SMS to unsubscribe immediately.
  • Reply HELP to any SMS for assistance.
  • Contact the Business User directly and ask them to remove your number from their account.
  • Contact MyShowUp support at [email protected] to request removal.

5. No Third-Party Sharing of Consent Data

Phone numbers and SMS consent information collected through our platform are never shared, rented, or sold to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. This data is used exclusively to deliver the appointment reminder service requested by Business Users.

6. Carrier Disclosures

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. MyShowUp is not responsible for any charges applied by your carrier.

7. Related Policies

This SMS Consent Policy should be read alongside our other policies:
